Lillebaby 5 Position Everywear Baby Carrier – Organic – Earth Brown Review

I’m a bit obsessed with baby carriers. I’ve tried so many of them – Bjorn, Bjorn Air, Hot slings, Maya Wrap, Ergo, Ergo Sport, Catbird Pikkolo, Cybex 2.go. So I can say I’ve had a lot of experience. I really loved our Bjorn, but as the summer heat came around and baby started to weigh alot more it just wasn’t comfortable anymore. I tried out a lot of carriers until I got this one. My baby loves the front facing out position and I had a hard time finding anything that was comfortable for that. The Pikkolo felt like she was just facing the ground and pulling on my back. The Cybex was nice and is very well made, but it seems to hurt my hips. Plus it had a lot of fabric once you move to the full motion option. So that was hot.
This carrier though was just awesome. Its really soft and comfortable. We took a long walk on the beach and my back felt fantastic. The breathable fabric was so great. It kept both of us cool. Its my favorite carrier now.
It does have a bit of a learning curve figuring out how to use it because it has so many carrying options. If you’ve used a baby carrier before, you’ll probably catch on really quick as at least one of the positions will be familiar. If this is your first carrier, you might need to practice a few times. But once you have it down, its easy. I found the back strap (the one that goes a across your shoulder blades) to be easier to secure than the Ergo. I found the padding in the shoulders to be very comfortable and I liked that I could move it around to where it fit me best. The pocket is very roomy and fit a tube of sunblock, my phone and keys.
Definitely a great find. We love it.
I would highly recommend this for the summer or if you live in a hot climate like us (Florida). The mesh is great!

Disappointing – tmfbookster – NY
I was really excited about this carrier, but it was uncomfortable for me and for my son. The shoulder straps were too bulky. It’s not something you can quickly put on- so many straps and such. And my son (who is very squirmy) always seemed on the verge of flipping himself over.
Better options available. – M.Jarock – Lacey, WA
I am underwhelmed by this carrier. I own wraps, slings, MTs and two other SSCs. Its easiest to compare apples to apples so I will try and keep the comparisons to my Angelpack and Beco.
We can start with the only plus this carrier has over the Angelpack and Beco. Its lightweight. Being its so lightweight it also feels less substantial. It also has a forward facing front carry that my other two SSCs did not have. However since I did not find this carry comfortable for me I don’t find it to be a plus. Then there is the whole issue about whether its even safe for babies hips and spine and whatever it is “they” say.
I tried all the different carries; forward facing front carry, traditional front carry, back carry, and hip carry (w/ sling converter).
Forward facing front carry. This just didn’t feel right to me, the weight distribution just felt off. I also felt like it just looked weird to have my baby legs dangling like that. I only used this hold for a few minutes but I would say it didn’t feel like it would take too long for my back to start hurting.
Traditional front carry. With the carrier being so lightweight I was afraid the hold would feel flimsy or uncomfortable but it felt pretty darn good. I was able to tighten it up and carry her high and tight which is the most comfortable way to carry a baby. The shoulder pads are not as padded as the angelpack or beco but I felt like the padding was enough to keep from the straps from digging in and becoming uncomfortable.
Back carry. With my 20 lbs baby this is the most comfortable hold. I was able to get a pretty tight hold and the straps did not dig in under my arms.
Hip carry with sling converter. The sling converter was not as comfortable as I was hoping. It did spread the weight nicely but I felt like the edges of the sling fabric were cutting into my arm. I could loosen it up and it felt better but then the baby was not as tight which would be a problem if you wanted to use the carry longterm.
customer service was great. I ordered 2 carriers and both arrived busted in different ways. I emailed customer service and had the solutions mailed out and on my doorstep within a week.
I love my Beco. I am not feeling the same love for this carrier but it has potential to grow on me in these upcoming summer months. This carrier does fit me better then my Angelpack did which I felt was more suitable for a more petite figure. The Angelpack however is much cuter IMHO. Finally the instructions included with this carrier are awful, so you will be figuring out how to use it all on your own.
Not very durable. – Ella – Florida
I got this carrier instead of Babybjorn, which became very uncomfortable for a larger baby. At first I was very pleased. I love the fact that it has many different positions. My baby loves being face forward as he can then see what is going on. I also love the sleeping hood. My son does not like the stroller and walking with this carrier is great. It protects him from the sun and supports the head when he falls asleep. It is definitely much more ergonomic and comfortable than my sling or babybjorn. But it started to fall apart after a month of use. I have to stitch it together now. My 7 mo son is about 19 lb and 29 inches. So it should be fine, but the fabric breaks apart. I am saddened by this, as otherwise I like this carrier very much.
Awesome carrier! – Elaine Ellerton – austin, tx
I usually use ring slings and Moby wraps (all great), but wanted something for my husband and something sturdier than the slings. This has everything. Breath ability, the baby can face forward, comfortable, secure. It is really great. Someone mentioned that the baby nearly fell through and it is dangerous, I have really no idea how that could happen unless they didn’t secure any of the straps. It is NOT an issue. The instructions are a little difficult, but once you get what they mean, it is a cinch. Also, you do not need the infant insert unless you want to do a cradle hold. An infant can face towards you without the need for the expensive insert. I learned this the hard way and had to send it back.
